Originally it was in the\u00a0department of Mathematics. The\u00a0department of\u00a0Mathematics was running with two streams from 1972, one is Pure\u00a0Mathematics and the other one is\u00a0Applied Mathematics. But in 2002, the stream\u00a0Applied Mathematics started functioning separately. This\u00a0department is the first department of Applied Mathematics in Bangladesh.
