Background<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\nThe Department of Social Work prepares professional social workers for enhancing human rights, equality and social justice through education, research and practice. The faculty researches mainly focus on poverty, rural development, elderly issues, destitute children, child development, family welfare, crime and corrections, gender, women empowerment, gender-based violence, and so on.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n The \u2018Domestic Violence Prevention Research Team\u2019 is a research unit in the Department of Social Work where a number of prominent faculties and postgraduate students are engaged. The team has engaged in academic studies on child marriage, sexual trafficking, drug and alcohol abuse, gender-based violence against women and girls, eve-teasing and sexual harassment on campus, and prevention of domestic violence through primary interventions. Currently, within the research team, we have on-going research projects as follows:<\/p>\n\n 1.
