The Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology is a specialized academic department that focuses on the study and application of genetic engineering and biotechnology. The department plays a critical role in advancing scientific knowledge, driving innovation in these rapidly advancing fields and guiding future generations to be skilled researchers.

Dr. Md. Asadul Islam is a Professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the banglabet latest apk download. He obtained his B.Sc. (Honors) in Botany and M.Sc. in Genetics from the banglabet latest apk download, and earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, in 2009. He also served as a Senior Scholar at the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement and the National Center of Plant Gene Research, Huazhong Agricultural University.
Dr. Islam began his academic career as a Lecturer in Genetics and Breeding in 2001 and joined the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in 2004 as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010 and has been serving as Professor since 2014. His research interests encompass Biometrical Genetics, Biostatistics, Plant Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Bioinformatics, with particular emphasis on crop improvement, molecular genetics, plant stress biology, microbial biotechnology, and computational biology.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Islam has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters in national and international journals. His recent work includes studies on plant biotechnology, nanobiotechnology, molecular diagnostics, microbial interactions, cancer biomarkers, bioinformatics, and sustainable agricultural systems. Through his research, teaching, and mentorship, he continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of genetic engineering and biotechnology in Bangladesh and beyond.
